5.0 out of 5 stars Best ever cordless landline phone, April 9, 2007

These are the best phones I have ever owned! I actually have TRU9485-4WR. It is the same except the base has a wireless handset & it comes with a "submersible" handset as well as the three regular wireless handsets. As reviewed by others, it has the awesome ability of getting your messages at the handsets, and as some others left out, you actually have FULL answering machine control from all the handsets. Includes handy "call screening" option (read manual). Great sound, including the answering machine messages. Also mentioned by other reviewers: You can copy phone books (memory dialer) to other sets & base. But you can also copy just a single entry to other sets. A "copy to all" feature would have been nice, but it only takes a minute or less to copy to each one individually, and the intuitive menu system helps make the process easy.

Setup was quick and easy. I did read the manual, but not entirely, and I would not have to to learn most of the functions if I... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Good Cord/Cordless Phone Combination, October 29, 2006

This phone is the best of both worlds. I have the corded base station with speakerphone in my home office and 3 handsets around the house. Now, if I lose power, I can still make phone calls from the base station. Answering machine capability is easy to set up.

One disapointment is that the corded base station cannot accomodate a headset, so I end up using the cordless handset for long calls where the speakerphone isn't viable.

I like the 100 number storage with the opportunity to store two numbers for each entry (providing up to 200 numbers).

The corded base station is compact and has desired features, such as answering system, caller ID, and intercom, to name a few.

Also, voice quality is good on the corded base station and the three cordless handsets.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding Phone, May 6, 2007

We did a fair amount of research before purchasing this phone. We purchased it from a local 'big box' outlet (Circuit City) for a cheaper price than was available on Amazon (though I would have no problem getting this from Amazon, it did not seem to be available for free shipping---which would have wiped out any benefit from avoiding sales tax with the Amazon purchase).

Our last phone was an ATT corded phone with 2 cordless handsets that we purchased about 7 years ago...it worked very well but was only 2.4 GHz instead of 5.8 GHz and was really due for an update. This Uniden has a lot of great featurs outlined in other reviews. The set-up is VERY simple.

The handsets just 'feel' quite solid (unlike a Panasonic that I looked at very closely) and the numbers are BACKLIT (many are not in this price-range---again the Panasonic's handsets were not backlit).

The phonebook is awesome and easy to program. The salmon-colored display is very sharp and much... Read more
