Like most fellas I dug right into this, and put the directions in the burn pile. I soon regretted that, after a while I did sort out the menu system and give the directions a good once over. I charged a 2s Lipo and a few 6 cell NiMH packs.
On charging my 6 cell nimh packs I heard a buzzing noise, then it turned off. Odd I thought, I only did 1 A .... then I found if I slammed the transformer down the charger lit up quickly. I took the AC adapter / transformer apart (cracks open at the seams with a flat head). Sure enough there was a bad solder joint in there for the transformer coil. I fixed that and all is well.
I'll say this new solder with less / no lead in it might be better for mother earth, but it's seriously cramping my style.

Forget the instruction manual...it is useless. I am not sure if the balance block is defective, or settings are wrong, but on balancing...all I can get is "connection break". I can get a nicad or nimh to charge, but none of my lipo's. Like I said, the instruction manual is useless. This is a repackaged chinese charger that can be had for around 40 bucks called the Turnigy Accucell-8150. Download that instruction manual if you want better instructions...but they are still mediocre. If you are familiar with this interface, then the charger will be good. If you are fairly new to electrics...such as I am coming from glow engine RC to electric....look elsewhere.
