If you are using LiPo's for your R/C cars, boats or planes this is the best charger for the money. My only complaint is the manual is poorly written, but a call to Horizon tech support answered all of my questions about set up. Considering the volatile nature of LiPo batteries, I did not want to make a mistake setting up for charging them. Never saw it before, bought it love it!, = Durability: = Fun: = Educational: This review is from: Passport Ultra AC/DC Charger/Cycler (Toy) The manual IS confusing but after some use I have grown to love this little charger. It gives me quite a bit of control on how I charge my batts and it can handle just about every kind of chemistry out there. If you are using lipos you have to plug in both leads to this charger, it charges through the flight lead and only monitors and balances through the balance lead. That one threw me for a loop.. LOLI wish I could charge more than one battery at a time but since this charger is quick I can live with only one. Also it would be cool if it had PC connectivity but alas nope. Anyway I still recommend this charger to anyone who is interested. Again, I love it! I tried it on 3 different cells, all were done at 2.5 to 3amps....It kept charging at 1.8 to 1.9 amps. It does not have usb port, so any kind of diagnostic charge, discharge, and such is not possible. The second should be a deal breaker for most buyers. |
