This is incorrect, so I wanted to write a review giving directions on how to activate the phone with Verizon.We just finished activating ours, and it is a pain. It cannot be done at a store, it must be done over the phone. This is because the stores can only activate phones on the new EVO network, whereas if you call in, they can activate on the older digital network. When you call, you tell them you have a Migo and you want to activate it. We had existing service and were transferring a line, but I don't think it matters. They will ask you for the MEID number of the phone, which can be found on the back of the phone under the battery. The Verizon tech needs to send service to that MEID number. Now, here's the hard part, and where I'm pretty sure people are getting confused. The Verizon tech will then tell you to dial *228 from the Migo. The... I was told, it should have instructions in the box. The box came empty but for a phone user manual. Brought it over to the verizon store and after 2 hours and although friendly service, nothing happened. I was told they could not activate this without it's cell number. I then called Amazon and was told they did not have this information and did not know what to tell me. I called the third-party seller , gamzi digital and to date, I have yet to receive a return call. So sending this back for a full refund, and checked online one last time. I went to the verizon website and filled in the phone's ESN and then I get "congratulations, you can activate your phone online"! I followed the steps and hit a snag, "cannot activate the phone" message came up and I had to dial an 800 number.
